Erasmus+ Mobility: TAPAJ Professionals Explore Therapeutic Innovation in Ireland

Erasmus+ Mobility: TAPAJ Professionals in Dublin with Ecett

At the end of June, four professionals from TAPAJ and TAPAJ France took part in a 3-day Erasmus+ mobility exchange in Dublin. They were warmly welcomed by Coolmine, a therapeutic community and a proud member of Ecett Networks.

This exchange was supported by the Erasmus+ programme, which helps professionals across Europe share practices and learn from one another.

What is Coolmine?

Coolmine is a therapeutic community based in Ireland. It supports people who use drugs through a step-by-step and person-centred approach. Each person follows a recovery journey tailored to their needs.

What Happened During the Exchange?

The TAPAJ professionals took part in many activities. These included:

Visits to residential and outpatient services

Conversations with residents and participation in group sessions

Meetings with teams running the Parents Under Pressure (PUP) programme and the Community Employment Scheme

Discussions with the team at Coolmine House about their community-based model

Fieldwork with the PACT Team, which helps people in emergency accommodation

This programme offered a real opportunity to explore new ideas and methods in harm reduction and social care.

Why It Matters

This kind of exchange is a great example of Erasmus+ mobility in action. It reflects the mission of Ecett Networks:

to connect professionals, encourage learning, and spread good practices across Europe.

“These experiences help us improve what we do. They inspire us, and they bring us closer as a European community.”

Thank You to Our Hosts

We sincerely thank all the people who made this visit possible:

The residents, service users, the teams at Coolmine House and the PACT Team.

Special thanks to Elizabeth Baxter for her help in organizing the exchange, and to Javier de las Heras for his warm welcome and support during the visit.
